Job Description:

The University of Wisconsin, Laboratory for Optical and Computational Instrumentation (LOCI) is looking for temporary software support to assist in the development of IDL-based data reduction for Integral Field Spectroscopy. This is a full or part-time contract position for 1-6 months and does not require relocation to Madison. It will require some travel to Madison for several onsite meetings. Experience with IDL-based Astronomical data reduction is a requirement. Experience with integral field spectroscopy is desirable.

A Ph.D. is not required.

The LOCI ( http://www.loci.wisc.edu/ ) is a photonics instrumentation laboratory located within the University Of Wisconsin at Madison. New and improved imaging instrumentation and optical-based experimental techniques are being developed. These projects are driven by demands arising from the scientific studies of external collaborators and the principal investigators and opportunities that arise with the emergence of new technology. Instrumentation development is undertaken in a form that is both accessible and beneficial to the scientific community.
