Job Description:

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position, funded through the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the Center for Research and Exploration in Space Science and Technology (CRESST), to work with Dr. Koji Mukai at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) on the studies of accreting and/or nuclear-buring white dwarfs. The successful applicant will participate in the analysis and the interpretation of XMM-Newton observations that are already taken or approved, along with related projects of the applicant's choosing. We seek candidates who will be able to analyze XMM-Newton, Chandra and other X-ray satellite data, and have a background in cataclysmic variables, symbiotic stars or related objects.
