Job Description:
Faculty Position in Experimental Astrophysics/Particle-Astrophysics/CosmologyThe School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota/Twin Cities invites application for tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Experimental Astrophysics, Particle-Astrophysics and Cosmology. Successful applicants are expected to have at least two years of postdoctoral experience in the field and must have demonstrated the potential to conduct vigorous and significant research programs. The ability to teach physics effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels is required. Senior applicants may be considered for tenured appointments if they have a demonstrated record of scientific accomplishment, leadership, creativity and of effective teaching. The School has strong programs in the areas of dark matter searches, experimental cosmic microwave background, search for gravity waves, theoretical and numerical nuclear astrophysics, and theoretical cosmology.
