Job Description:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Kutztown University is home to sixteen academic departments and more than 3,200 students. The College invites applications for the following tenure-track positions for the 2009-10 academic year. A strong applicant will be an effective teacher, a scholar with a committed research agenda, and a colleague ready to participate in department and university service.

Astronomy: The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Astronomy. Primary responsibility will be teaching 12 contact hours/semester of introductory undergraduate astronomy courses. In particular, we are looking for an astronomer, who is capable of improving the lecture and lab courses in our introductory astronomy curriculum. One year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent (e.g. teaching assistantships), is preferred.

Planetarium-Astronomy: The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Astronomy. Primary responsibility will be teaching 12 contact hours/semester of introductory undergraduate astronomy courses. In particular, we are looking for an astronomer, who is willing to operate and administer our small-scale on-campus planetarium and initiate various planetarium-based outreach programs. One year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent (e.g. teaching assistantships), is preferred.
